Pastor Guito Pierre

Guito Pierre is the pastor of Bellevue Mountain Christian Center. He was born in this area of Haiti, in the mountains south of Port-au-Prince. At age 18, he walked to a school two hours away, to start first grade.

He eventually moved to Canada and then to the United States, where he completed degrees in social work and community development. He could have had a comfortable life in the US, but he felt called by God to return to Haiti.

He understands, from his own experience, the importance of a good education. He started the Emmaus School, which now has over 200 students. Emmaus Clinic is part of his vision for improving the daily lives of his people, by providing access to basic medical care, and providing work and educational opportunities in the medical field.
