February 2025
2024 was another hard year for Haitians, as gangs continue to terrorize the population. Two of the capital's main hospitals were attacked. Doctors Without Borders withdrew from Haiti due to the danger to their staff. Three planes were hit by gunfire when trying to land at the airport in Port-au-Prince. As a result, the Federal Aviation Administration banned flights to the capital until at least March 12.
On a positive note, Collaboration Santé Internationale, a Canadian organization, donated a substantial amount of medical equipment. This will enable us to provide x-ray services, perform surgeries, and offer inpatient and maternity care. However, the shipping container holding the equipment will remain in Canada until the situation in Haiti improves.
BUT THE BIGGEST NEWS IS THAT JESUS IS ALIVE AND DOING MIRACLES!
Jeudy
Jeudy is a 7-year-old boy from Bellevue Mountain. In August, he broke his arm, but the hospital where his father initially brought him was unable to provide the necessary treatment.
Jeudy then came to Emmaus Clinic, where our staff arranged for him to receive surgery. We were concerned, as the break was near the elbow joint and had been left untreated for so long.
The church in Haiti and in the US were praying for him. When the orthopedic surgeon was ready, we sent a vehicle to bring Jeudy back to the clinic. In the meanwhile, Jesus healed his elbow! When he arrived at the clinic, his arm was completely normal!
“I call out to the Lord, and he answers me from his holy mountain.” Psalm 3:5
Prayers
We are starting a monthly prayer meeting via Zoom on the third Saturday of each month at 9 am.
We hope you will join us in praying for the following:
For a stable, functional government in Haiti.
For a reduction in gang violence.
That flights can resume to the Port-au-Prince airport, allowing us to send medication and supplies.
That the port becomes secure, enabling the shipment of medical equipment from Canada.
For the safety of the Emmaus Clinic staff, Emmaus School, and Belleview Mountain Church.
In Jesus name,
